Wardrobe for Opportunity Since January 2007 our branch has supported Wardrobe for Opportunity, a volunteer-based, nonprofit organization that provides professional clothing and career support to low-income jobseekers in the Bay Area so they can secure employment and become economically self-sufficient. Our members are involved directly as Personal Shoppers, helping clients select suitable business outfits, Apparel Management to manage inventory, Volunteers for WFO Special Events, and Client Follow up Volunteers, making calls to track progress and offer additional support as needed. Our branch also sponsors clothing donation drives and is a forum to promote and advance the good work of the organization. WFO provides client services at Boutiques in Concord and Oakland. Please check their website http://www.wardrobe.org/ or call (510) 463-4100 x11 for additional information and also donation drop off locations. Contact Chris Burchik for more information about sharing your time and talents with WFO. ![]() Wardrobe for Opportunity Orientation ![]() Concord Botique - Wardrobe for Opportunity Tech Trek Tech Trek is a week-long residential math/science camp for seventh grade girls. Tech Trek is entering it's tenth year in 2007 with camp sites at Stanford University, Mills College and UC Santa Barbara. Science, math, and technology are major fields where women are presently underrepresented but fields where they can and do succeed. The goal of Tech Trek is to provide a fun yet educational experience that will expand the minds of the middle-school age girls who attend, allow campers to experience hands-on experiments and field trips related to math and science, live on a college campus, get acquainted with other girls who think science is fun, and meet female role models in math, science, technology. Watch the CBS news story that ran on national television on the evening of Sunday, July 24th about Tech Trek camp. Laurie Dennen
