- Arts & Crafts
Members get together to
share and to learn the art of wood-burning, rubber stamping,
stencilling, leaf-printing, decoupage etc. to create items such as
greeting cards, gift boxes, fabric products or anything you wish. Pauline Nolte
- Audio Book Exchange
Audio books are great for
listening to when driving, walking or exercising. The audio book group
will follow the format of the book exchange, only instead of exchanging
a hard back book once a month we will be exchanging an audio book. We
will be exchanging unabridged audio books in CD format.
We will have signups at the fall brunch. If you will be unable
to attend the brunch please call or e-mail Patrice Miller with the name
of your selection. Patrice Miller

- Book Exchange
Like reading best seller,
but don't like library waiting lists and time restrictions or bookstore
prices? Then the Book Exchange is for you. To join, buy a hardcover book
from the current year's best sellers list, either fiction or
non-fiction. Your book will be rotated among the other Book Exchange
members. You will receive a book on the first of each month and get your
book back at the end of the year. Lois Kamaroff & Cindy Ferrin
- Bridge - Tuesday Night
Here is the opportunity to
play bridge with AAUW members on the third Tuesday of the month. Chris White
- Cork 'N Fork
If you enjoy good food and
friendly company, join us every fourth Saturday when members get
together with their culinary contribution, tailored to a particular
theme suitable for the season and weather. Different members offer their
homes and hospitality. If opportunity arises, the group may gather at a
restaurant to try a different exotic international fare. Andy Gibson and Olivia Larson

- Daytimers
Provides an opportunity for
those who are looking for company to go places and / or do things during
the week and in the daytime—such as museums, theatre or movie, going
shopping learning a new skill (knitting, quilting, cooking, etc) walking
or exercising together, meeting for coffee, enjoying a video, or getting
together for a potluck. The group picks the activities and the frequency
of our get-togethers whether pre-planned or impromptu. Pauline
Nolte
- Game Night
First Friday or Saturday at
7:30 pm, members bring a variety of games (board, dice, card, etc.) to

- Garden
Club
Calling all Green Thumbs - or not? We are getting
together to brainstorm ideas for this new group and start planning for
the next few months. Come and learn all about this new group. This group
is for anyone interested in plants (indoor or outdoors) and is
interested in either sharing their knowledge or learning about plants.
We will have "show and tell" gatherings with discussion topics such as
best flowers for cutting, best fertilizers or how to compost plus
outings to nurseries and garden-related events. Even possible seed and
plant exchange/co-op. Mary
Venkat & Pauline Nolte
- Mahjong
Twice a month, on the first
Tuesday and the third Thursday, members have a chance to play Chinese
mahjong, a game similar to gin rummy. Beginners can watch and learn
until they feel comfortable enough to play. Lucy Weed
- Reader's Theatre
Calling all thespians!
Here's your chance to be a drama (or comedy) queen. ONe evening a month
from October through May, members gather together to read a play aloud.
Our purpose? Just fun! We "perform" with no rehearsals and no audience
in the comfort of members' living rooms. Come once or every month. Carolyn Fishel
- Reading Society
At the beginning of the
year, interested members gather to decide on the reading list. Every
third Monday at 7:30 pm, members meet at a predetermined home, with
refreshments. A review of the book of the month starts the discussion.

- Ticket Stubs
Get together with others who
enjoy the cultural arts. Members interested in a specific exhibition or
function can alert other members and coordinate carpools, ticket
purchases, etc. Activities may include outings to plays, foreign films,
museums, the ballet and more! Pauline Nolte
As part of Ticketstubs, a group of San Ramon
members visited the Sunset Gardens for a fabulous day of demonstrations,
tastings and tours.
- Travel
Many of our members take
exotic and educational trips during the year. This group provides an
opportunity for them to share their experiences with other members who
want to learn more about the world and other cultures. Guest speakers
and branch members share their travel adventures in the United States
and abroad through slide presentations and lectures. Renae Buckser & Anne Hayden
- Walking Group
The Walking Group moves us
out of our house and into the great outdoors. We'll scale the highest
mountains (probably no more than Mt. Diablo), trail through forest and
swamps (probably Lafayette Reservoir). Unless otherwise specified we
will meet at 9:00 am in the commuter parking lot on the west side of
highway 680 at Bollinger Canyon Road. We will be sure to have detailed
directions for all drivers. Friends, spouses and friendly dogs are
welcome. If you'd like to join our interest group, let me know. Diane Griffiths & Lois Kamoroff
