Hart Postlethwaite visited Russia May 1995, and he shares pictures and observations of his ancestral village, Dubovka.
Graubergers of Dubovka -
Alexander Cristofferovich Grauberger was born about 1860. He married Emily Schwab, born about 1878 in Kamyshin. Apparently all their children were born in what was then Papert, Dubovka, Saratov, Russia. The children were:
1. Leo, born about 1896;
2. Alfred, born 1899;
3. a daughter who did not live, born about 1902;
4. Adelaide Emily, born 1906;
5. Alexander, born 1909;
6. Felix, born 1912.
The Graubergers departed for the United States via the Orient Express, China, Kobe Japan, and arrived in San Francisco on the SS Mongolia on September 20, 1913.
The ship manifest also listed the father of Alexander Cristofferovich, Christoffer Grauberger, born in Mogelev. His wife was Catherine Sables - birthplace unknown.
We know that Alexander Cristofferovich had at least two brothers, names unknown. We also discovered that there were Graubergers in Rosenburg who may have been related to our family. Hopefully, the more we share information like this, the greater the chances of finding missing links.
