Magdalen was born Dec. 23, 1921 in Sheboygan, a daughter of the late Karl and Louise (Fuerlinger) Kleefisch.. On Nov. 25, 1948 she was united in marriage to Anton MEYER at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1990. Magdalen is survived by her two daughters, Carol (Russell) Senkbeil and Peggy (Jack) Nisporic, both of Sheboygan; six grandchildren, James Senkbeil, Appleton, Peter (Sara) Senkbeil, Brian (Nicole) Senkbeil, Kevin Senkbeil, Adam Nisporic and Laura Nisporic all of Sheboygan; four brothers, Arthur Kleefisch, Baraboo, Leo Kleefisch, Ventura, Calif., Joseph (Joyce) Kleefisch, Sheboygan and Raymond (Dolores) Kleefisch, Opeloussa, La.; a sister, Sr. Carol Ann, SSND, Milwaukee. Born to John and Katherine (Nuss) Kleim. Mr. and Mrs.Kleim, with Marie and her brother, immigrated to the United States in 1912 entering the country through Ellis Island. They first settled in Shattuck, where Marie's father worked for 1-1/2 years to repay Henry Schoenhals who had sent them money for tickets. On January 26, 1938, she married Victor KLEIN and moved to Shattuck. To this union one son, Larry John, was born on November 24, 1942. Marie is survived by her husband, Victor Klein; son, Larry John Klein and wife Gail of Winter Park, Florida; grandson, Kevin John Klein and wife, Tracy, of Winter Park, Florida; great granddaughter, Nicole Marie of Winter Park, Florida; three step-grandchildren: Janet Quinlan, Kathryn Friedle, and Michael Thomas; and several nieces and nephews. Her sister, Emma Kniss, of Bayard, Nebraska, passed away only one hour before Marie on Saturday, March 5 (2005). She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, John and William, and a sister, Katie. Interment followed in the Shattuck Memorial Cemetery.

Son of Godfrey and Katherine Klein. He was married to Helen KURETICH EGAN May 28, 1960, at Ely, Nev., and she survives. He had previously been married to Ruby COOPER MORROW They had three children who survive; a son, Max A. Klein of San Francisco, Calif.; two daughters, Donna R. High of Grand Junction and Barbara L. High of San Lorenzo, Calif. He is also survived by two brothers, Dave Klein of Denver and Fred G. Klein of Salt Lake City, Utah; four sisters, Mary Michael of Rifle, Anna Nunley of Fresno, Calif., Elvina Coldwell of Portland, Oreg., and Paula Cyprian of Fort Morgan; and five grandchildren. Klein's parents migrated from Germany to Russia but the family was forced to flee Russia during the Bolshivek revolution. They were separated from their father in Poland and never saw him again. The youngest child also died on the trip. Mrs. Klein suffered many hardships on the way but managed to get to Higgins, Texas, to join relatives already in America. Alec was five years old when they arrived in Texas September 22, 1922. His mother married John Reinhart and the family joined him in Rifle. Internment was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

In 1894 he was united in marriage with Julia Elizabeth Busch at Dreispitz. In 1901 they immigrated to America, settling at Hillsboro, Kansas. Five children were born, three daughters and two sons, one of these, Marie, was taken into the arms of Jesus at the age of 1-1/2 years. Four children, Mollie, Mrs. Sam Vogel; Lydia, Mrs. Jake Vogel; Fred and Harry all reside near Marion. He had three sisters, all of whom preceded him in death in Russia; two brothers, Reinhardt and David living at Brighton, Colorado.

He was married to Miss Marie KELLER, November 13, 1892. To this union eight sons were born. In 1900 he emigrated from Russia to the United States and came to Kansas to live together with his family and aged parents. The remains were laid to rest in the Lutheran cemetery at Tampa on July 14th. He is survived by his window, 8 sons, 8 grandchildren, 3 brothers, 1 sister in South America, and probably one sister in Russia. Of the 8 sons, 7 are married and all the children, grandchildren and brothers were present at his funeral.

Music was presented by Carlos Williams, Bonnie Shepherd, and Gayleen Shepherd. Pallbearers were Victor Klein, Roy Kretz, Ray Kelln, Rueben H. Schoenahls, Allen Schoenhals, and Edward Schoenhals. In 1903, the Klein family began a dangerous journey to a new land seeking a peaceful home in America. Somewhere on the gulf of Mexico, Gottfried's younger brother, Dave was born. The mother and baby were unable to continue the trip to Salina, Kan. After much difficulty, the family was finally reunited August 28, 1920, Mr. Klein married Emma Teresa Schoenhals in Arnett. To this union two sons were born, Roy L. and Vernon, March 23, 1962. Emma passed away. December 1963, Mr. Klein married Leona Kline who has one daughter and two sons. The new family was accepted as his own family. These step-children, Sandra, Gene, Don and Mark, loved and respected their new dad. Survivors include his wife, Leona, of the home, sons, Roy L. Klein of Newport Beach, Calif.; now on assignment in the Republic of South Africa, Vernon Klein of Lawton, Gene Klein of Little Rock, Ark, Don Kline of Wichita, Kan., Mark Kline of Whiteright, Tex.; daughter, Sandra Sanchez of New Braunfels, Tex., two sisters, Mrs. Mary Kretz of Shattuck and Mrs. Martha Longhofer of Salida, Calif. In 1899 his wife passed away leaving him with three children. In May 1900 he was married to Mary BENDER and to this union was born three children, two boys and one girl. His second companion also died in December 1923. He leave to mourn his loss, three daughters, three sons, three grandchildren, one brother, two sisters.

She was buried in the Strassburg Cemetery. One of the five children of Fred and Julia (Busch) Klein. She was married to Jacob VOGEL on May 11, 1919, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Vogel in the Canada community. He died in 1939. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters Marie and Mollie, and brother Harry. This union was blessed with as family of children: Hilda Schwemmer, Milwaukee, WI.; Esther Meier, Salina, KS; Hannah Francis, Denver, CO., Minnie Branda, deceased, Fren Keller, Englewood, CO; Sam Keller, Englewood, CO; Lillian Vasques, Denver, CO; Helen Pellicane, Hartford, CN; Irene Stoppel, Aurora, CO. The deceased came to America in 1909 and settled at Wilson. On 11 March 1945 her husband David Keller died. In 1949 she was joined in marriage with J. Carl Herber and continued to reside in Wilson with her husband. She is survived by her husband and children, one step-daughter (child of her first husband) Marie Kamp, Stockton, CA; 23 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Casket bearers were Carl Heinze, Ermil Francis, Dave Meier, Charles Janne, R. Schwemmer and Adam Stoppel. NOTE: This was possibly the third husband of Marie. The marriage date in the above obit is wrong. It should be 22 February 1907. The date given 22 February 1901 is possibly the marriage date of David Keller's first wife, Katharine Schulz who died about 1905 in Dreispitz, Russia. The stepchild mentioned in this obit is not that of Marie's but is the child of David Keller's first marriage to Katharine Schultz.

In 1903 after traveling first by boat, then by train, Mary and her family arrived in Locust Kan., where they were met by Uncle Gottfried Klein. On March 28, 1915, she was united in marriage to Fred F. KRETZ. Two children were born to this union, Roy R. Kretz and Alice E. Kretz. Fred died April 5, 1973. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fred, four sisters, three brothers, and daughter-in-law, Lola Kretz. She is survived by her son, Roy R. Kretz, of Shattuck; her daughter, Alice E. Those left to mourn the so early departure besides his parents are: four brothers, David, Gottfried, Jacob and Alexander, and four sisters, Mrs. Anna Lueck, Mrs. W. H. He was the eldest son of Reinhart and Katie Klein and came with his parents to the United States in 1903 at the age of 16. He was united in marriage to Anna HERBEL of Dorrance, Kan., on November 20, 1910. To this union were born three sons, one dying in infancy. In 1918 his wife, Anna, died. In 1919 he was united in marriage to Helen FIEL. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Helen, two sons, Victor of Shattuck and Ted of Tulsa; one foster daughter, Sally, Mrs. O. L. Moody of Odessa, Tex., who made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Klein from 1947 to 1954; two grandsons, Kenneth and Larry; one granddaughter preceding him in death; two brothers, Gottfried and Dave of Shattuck; and four sisters, Mrs. Mollie Schoenhals and Mrs. Fred Kretz of Shattuck, Mrs. Anna Meier of Oregon and Mrs. Sam Longhofer of Redwood, Calif.

He married Anna BESE in 1895 on December 8. They came to the United States of America while they were still quite young, and their childhood was spent in Minnesota. . In 1909 at Rush Lake, Saskatchewan, there was a prairie fire in which their daughter Mary perished. In 1918 both Anna and Reinhart died within a week of each other of the flue epidemic. Anna died on November 8,and Reinhart on November 15. They are buried together in the Ebenezer Mennonite Brethren Church cemetery, approximately nine miles northwest of Rush Lake. The children are as follows: David R. was born on October 30, 1896, in Mountain Lake, Minnesota. In 1920 on March 28 he married Elizabeth JANZEN. In 1980 he passed onto be with His Lord. Their children were: Ester, who married Ernest Penner and lives in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan; and Ruth, who married Arthur Dyck.

She was preceded in death by her parents; foster parents; husband; son, Morris Lee; three brothers, and four sisters. A mixed quartet from the Emmanuel Baptist Church composed of Miss Donna Rose Pankratz, Mrs. Charles Batt, Herbert Meier and Ralph Popp sang two hymns. Mrs. William Thies played the organ accompaniment and the prelude and postlude. Pallbearers were John Haas, William Haas, Fred Klein, Ruben Koch, Reinhardt Steinle, Leroy Hoffman. Mrs. Koch, Mrs. Dave Schlotthauer and Mrs. Leonard Bartel cared for the flowers. Interment was in the Marion cemetery. He came to America at the age of 18 years and settled in Marion county. On April 15, 1906 he was united in marriage to Mary HAAS, and this union was blessed with four children, 2 sons and 2 daughters. One son, Johnnie preceded his father in death. He was the youngest of six children; three brothers and two sisters who have preceded him in death. At the age of sixteen he moved to America with his parents making their home in the Marion community. On January 8, 1908, just two months short of a half century ago, he was united in marriage to Anna VOGEL in the Lutheran church of Tampa. To this union were born five children, Herbert, Irvin, Mrs. Irene Seibert and Clarence, all of Marion; and Walter Dean who is deceased. He leaves to mourn his wife, Anna, three sons, one daughter, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. John G. SCHNEIDER died suddenly this morning at Rochester, Minn. Mrs. SCHNEIDER is survived by her husband and two sons, Ruddie and Harold, a brother Dave KNEB of Fort Morgan, two sisters, Marie and Katie KNEB of Fort Morgan and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dave KNEB of Fort Morgan.

Esther Schafer was born on January 29, 1916, in Shattuck, Oklahoma. She was the youngest child in a family of 15. Three sisters died in infancy in Russia before her parents came to the United States. The family moved to the Texas Panhandle when Esther was six weeks old. She married Charles Ray SCHAFER on October 2, 1937, in the Methodist Church in Higgins, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dorthea Kison and Jacob Koch, her husband Charles, and 14 brothers and sisters. She is survived by three daughters, Charlene Rogers (Darrell), Peggy Humphreys (Chuck), and Linda Weyand (Troy); 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
