Saratov Archives All photos by Ken Stugart, July 2001 The Saratov archives is located just a few blocks from German street in Saratov. The building inside is being refurbished with funds from the German Consult, to be completed by the spring / summer of 2002. The archive is very clean with shiny floors, well organized and cataloged. They know what they have and where everything is located.  This is Aleksei Vladimirovich Voronezhtsev, the director of the archive in Saratov.  All books at the Saratov Archives are stored on metal shelves, well braced. Everything is very clean.  The shelves may not be wide enough.  Great care is taken when moving books from one place to another.  This village census book has been sealed. It will not be available for viewing until it restored.
