Probably the single largest group of people from Yagoda settled in the Endicott and Colfax areas (Whitman County) of Washington. Oshkosh, WI was perhaps the next largest followed by Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Most Weitz families from Yagodnaya Polyana primarily settled in two areas, Endicott/Colfax, WA and Oshkosh, WI. Other Weitz families from Yagoda settled in Pine Island, NY, and Kansas/Oklahoma/Oregon. The Weitz clan of Endicott/Colfax were descendants of Georg Peter Weitz born 1822 and Marie Elisabeth Scheuermann born 1824. Many of their sons and grandsons settled in that area in April 1892. Two of their brothers and their families settled in Kansas/Oklahoma/Oregon and they also immigrated in 1892. A single Weitz family settled in Pine Island, NY. The Weitz families of Saginaw, MI may be related to the Weitzes of Yagoda, since they came from the Volga area of Russia and were of the Lutheran faith. Other Weitzes from Russia were of the Jewish faith and are not related to the Weitzes of Yagoda.

The Weitz families that settled in Oshkosh were primarily descendants of Christian Weitz born 1837 or Johannes Weitz born 1854. Christian and Johannes were cousins and many of their children and grandchildren traveled to the USA together and lived together for a short while once they were here. They came from 1901 to 1909. One son of Johannes, moved from Oshkosh to Calstairs, Alberta, Canada presumably to farm. A third smaller group of Weitz families, which settled in Oshkosh for a time were descendants of Conrad Weitz born 1842. Many of this group moved to Calgary. Ultimately, all Weitzes from Yagoda are related, however distantly since they are all descendants of Johannes Weitz born 1728 from Nidda, Hesse, Germany and his wife Eva Catharina Schiesler born 1742.
